Dune 45,47 Big Daddy, Big Mama

CAMP STRUCTURE

What an awesome day. Woke up early as it gets hot quickly and I also wanted to get pictures of the shadows on the dunes. Packed the fridge up and made sure we had lots of water to drink. Being summer you go through quite a few litres a day.

CAMP VIEW

Left for Dune 47 early and took the drive out to Sossus Vlei. Took about an hour and the road was tarred. You have to go to the lodge and sign in at the gate and pay R60 per person and R10 for the car. Worth every penny. There is a tar road for quite a while. I just loved looking at how the terrain changed.

Once we entered the dune area we stopped and put the tyres down to 1 bar. From there on it was thick sand.
The Toyota Hilux handled it like a dream.
