GUPTAS GET IT ALL - BREAKFAST STILL ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT MEALS OFTHE DAY

GOVERNMENT SPEND WITH THE GUPTA'S (New Age Newspaper)

Department of Trade and Industry  - just short of R2m of advertising spend 2012/15

Department of Energy - has spent R1.9m on tickets to the paper’s breakfasts.Energy Minister Tina Joemat-Pettersson - spent R1.875m on tickets “and business breakfasts for the last three years" (2013 to 2015)
Department of Science and Technology Naledi Pandor - spent nearly R500 000 on sponsorships of the paper’s breakfasts as well as  R484 000 on sponsorships in the last three financial years R984 000
The Technology Innovation Agency, which falls under the science and technology department, spent R7 130 on the briefings in 2012/13.
Rural development and land reform department, Gugile Nkwinti - nearly R400 000 on advertising and breakfast tickets
Departments reporting to Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies said R452 321 had been spent in 2011/12, followed by just over R1m in 2012/13, R388 000 in 2013/14.

National Empowerment Fund had spent about R230 000 on adverts in 2011/12 and a further R28 000 in 2012/13.
Eskom CEO Collin Matjila -  signed off a R43m contract to sponsor The New Age’s breakfast briefings over a three-year period.
Transnet - paid R17.5 million for 18 New Age breakfast sessions

Telkom - The most recent Nielsen Adex report (December 2011 to November 2012) reveals that the listed telecommunications company, which is almost 40% owned by the government, is the top advertiser in The New Age and invested R34m in advertising in this period.Telkom’s advertising comprises 32% of the newspaper’s advertising income in the 12-month period.
National government (almost R17m) 2012/2013 - 12 breakfast sessions for R12m in the 2012/13 financial year.

The Guptas don’t pay for the airtime they receive from the SABC.

The paper, owned by the Gupta family, provides no circulation figures to judge its value by.
